I just got back from Dallas, TX. Don't ever go there unless you have family out there or your brother is getting married like my brother did. Alhamduillah he met a nice young lady at a wedding (isn't that how they all go?) and later asked the father for permission to visit he and his family. Before you know it, it was done.

It was a bag of mixed emotions because my father just passed away 2 months ago. I was happy for my brother, but sad that my father was not present to see it. He would have been so proud. May Allah be pleased with him. Anywho, my mother (May Allah give her strength) was tough throughout. She didn't let her sadness get in the way of being there for my younger brother.

Of course we didn't party or anything like that. My mother is on her 'iddah and we got the ok from an imam in our area. We simply went over, officially asked for her hand in marriage and then rolled out.

We let the bride and her friends party the night away. My brother is so excited and that's all I care about.

May Allah bless them both in this life and the hereafter.

Gaza Emergency Appeal

In the Gaza Strip, the humanitarian situation is catastrophic. Our partners in Gaza report that the streets are mostly deserted however, long queues are reported to be forming in front of bakeries. Prices for basic commodities are reportedly rising fast while some neighborhoods are without water because the network was damaged due to power outages. After 8 months, Gaza is already paralyzed and the people are utterly crippled with no ability to provide for themselves.

Hospitals are completely overwhelmed by the number of serious injuries although some medical supplies have been allowed to cross from Egypt. However, after 18 months of being sealed off from the world this does not begin to replenish the severe shortages.

Since November, children in Gaza have been drip fed aid, with only 6% of needed humanitarian goods entering from the World Food Program and UNRWA during the entire month. Now, the children in Gaza are desperate and our work is much more critical. Many NGO's have suspended their operations due to the high security risks, further complicating ongoing endeavors to feed and care for the increasing number of malnourished children.

Of the 17 bakeries still operating in Gaza, our partner bakery in Khan Younis is functioning at maximum capacity baking bread filled with either spinach, Zaatar, white or yellow cheese and other types of vegetables that are mixed with fresh olive oil. The bread pies will be distributed to 1000 of the poorest families in the eastern villages of the Gaza Strip, over 50% of whom are children. Many of these families are trapped in their homes and have run out of food supplies, sitting in the dark after 3 days of air raids. Other emergency service providers are not able to reach these families due to the proximity of the villages.

Kinder USA is urging its donors to make a donation today to assist in our ongoing emergency efforts. The situation is fluid with Gaza already desperately lacking food, medicine, and fuel. Our proposed number of 1000 families is minimal and many, many more families are in need. All of our projects are on hold as we direct our efforts to this crisis.

"All member states of the United Nations are bound to an independent obligation to protect any civilian population facing massive violations of international humanitarian law - regardless of what country may be responsible for those violations," said Dr. Laila Al-Marayati. "I implore all of our donors to contact their elected represented and ask for an end to this carnage. We must do everything we can to support Palestinian children and their families in this time of extreme suffering."

They are at it again! Israel caught in yet another lie. I mean, who freakin' buys what they are saying? Are you kidding me? Even the news anchors are hesitant in giving the Israeli side of the story because its pure BS.

Israel tried to say that a boat that only goes 12 knots at maximum speed tried to out maneuver an Israeli Defense Force speed boat? This is so retarded. I don't know how anyone puts up with these news outlets.

Cynthia rocks by the way. She doesn't care what Israel may do to her, she's speaking the truth.

I mean look, if Israel will lie about an incident like this, what makes you think that they wouldn't lie about bigger incidents, for instance, they claim to not target civilians but all we see are dead civilians.

I know the world knows the truth. The only countries that believe what they put out is Israel itself and its papa, the US.

Israel Created Hamas

There is a freakin' occupation of an entire population. Don't ever forget that. That is the root cause of the problem. These arguments about who started the current issue is a moot point and EXACTLY what the Zionists want you to waste your time arguing about.

The illegal occupation is the cause. Hamas is the direct result. They were created during the intifada. They wouldn't exist if the occupation ceased to exist. Killing more innocent people will not stop Hamas, it will only make them grow.

You want to end Hamas? End the oppressive, illegal occupation.

The truth is that Israel started it all and is the aggressor. The only people that deny that is Israel and the US of A. There is no justification in launching over 300 rockets and bombs from US made war planes and helicopters because Hamas reacted to the continued occupation Israel is responsible for.

How do people expect Palestinians to fight fair when this fight aint fair?! Israel destroys their infrastructure and police stations and then pretends to complain why the Palestinians can't keep some people who refuse to die quietly, in check. Does anyone else see the blatant hypocrisy and manipulation in this? The tit for tat is just an ongoing fighting that never ceased to exist, but only garners more attention every time Israel decides to abuse its power.

And to those who ask if the US would sit still if Mexico lobbed rockets into its Sovereign territory, I ask this. Would the US ever accept being invaded and occupied or would its citizens rise up and fight?

How jaded must we be that we allow another country to illegal occupy an entire population and justify it when its citizens die by our tax dollars. WTF!

I'm so angry right now. May God grant the David in this fight, victory. The Zionists will never silence the most basic of human rights. To live.

Tip Jars Suck

One more for today. Tip jars suck. Why in the world would I give someone a tip (ie. Starbucks or any coffee joint), for doing their job?! I see them most all places I go. I hate them with a passion. It's almost as if they are trying to guilt you into giving them a tip since its out there in your face. You almost feel obliged to do so. It's equivalent to the annoying people at any place of worship where they take the donation box out and stick it in everyone's face so you look like a loser and a freak if you don't put out.

I don't like that methodology. Just charge more for your drinks or whatever it is you are serving and I'll pay that if I want to give you my business, but don't play mind games with a brotha!

7 Pounds

OK, so I watched that new movie called, 7 Pounds. It's really good. Will Smith is amazing and the story was deep. Other than the mid-way through mandatory cliche fitna scene, the movie was great.

R.I.P. Dad

My father passed away Wednesday morning, November 26, 2008. It was very difficult for me mentally. My father was diagnosed with a rare cancer called soft tissue sarcoma. He basically felt a lump one day on his inner right thigh. He and my mother thought it was simply a cyst and needed to be draining or something because he had gotten cysts earlier in his life. Cancer was the farthest thing on our minds. My father is the youngest of 10 children and the most healthy. He never smoked or drank in his entire life. He was a big guy but it was a healthy big. My mother's cooking rocks. Anyhow, my father continued to say that he hoped it wasn't cancer because this lump was growing very quickly. Before we knew it, it had gone from 1cm size to over 15cm. All this growth in 1 month. When we finally sat with the doctor in November of 2006, he confirmed our greatest nightmare. It was not just a cancer, but a cancer that only affects about 7,000 people in the world a year and is less than 1% of all cancers. As I'm writing this my mind is going a million miles a minute. I'm all tense. Wow. Gotta cool off.

Anywho, to make a long story short, it has been a very trying 2 years. My father fought very hard and wanted to live. I remember sitting with him about a month before he passed and the day we got the news that it had spread to his liver and spleen. He was resting, lying on the couch. I visited him and gave him my, how we are going to beat this, speech. He looked up at me and said, "whatever God gives me, I accept it." He had put this thing into remission twice before. All we could do was cling to hope. I think my father knew it wouldn't be long though. I had my questions and concerns as to why this was happening to my father or why God had chosen to test my father with this type of disease. It was so freaking rare. My father never complained though. He was better than me. My biggest nightmare actually came true. Someone whom I loved so much was in pain both mentally and physically and I could do nothing about it. That tortured me. I began praying more and more making supplication after supplication and it seemed to work. The cancer would go away and then come back. I was confused and irritated. My patience was running thin. I just didn't get the wisdom behind it (actually, I didn't want to see it) until a very good friend of mine reminded me of why we are here. I called him to give him the news regarding my father and the first thing that came out of his mouth was, "Allah (God) loves your father". That stopped me in my tracks. Any normal Joe would be like, "what?!" He continued to remind me that when Allah loves his slave, he tests him and that any believer that dies directly from a stomach disease becomes a "shaheed", or a witness. I knew all of this. My faith was tested. I got so caught up with the emotions of it all that it blinded me from seeing the wisdom behind it all. That Allah chose to take my father away in this form, that he allowed him to give the Shahada 3 separate times, that he took him away from a disease that moved to the stomach all indicating that my father had a very good death. We can only pray that we are able to have our sins removed and be able to say the testimony of faith before passing. Most are simply taken quickly where the soul is confused.

I mean, we're all going right? Would you rather have it be quick and easy or slow but able to get all of your affairs in place before you go? I know this post is probably all over the place, so forgive me if I'm typing slower than my mind is spitting out the commands. I am experiencing so many emotions at the moment. Goodness... Ok anyhow, a few things. My father did suffer greatly. He bore it with patience. His last words to me were, "I bear witness that there is only One God". May Allah remove any short comings he may have had and permit him into the highest Paradise. Love you Pops!

I'll revisit this and attempt to be more coherent but it is what it is.

Ok, so I figured I'd give in and create a blog. This will mainly be a more personal blog spot than what most of my YouTube subscribers are used to. My YouTube account is http://www.youtube.com/user/bonsaisky. On YouTube, I make a humble attempt at doing my part ridding of misconceptions about Islam. Here, I'll simply give more of my personal opinions (I know, like anyone really cares) on matters and simply expound on how I may be feeling on certain days whether they be up or down. We're all human. I'll probably be talking to myself.
